"The Quaking" on page 79 is much like the Christian belief of Judgement Day in my opinion. Is this what you got from the reading also? Why? The last two lines of "The Quaking" state: "Whoever does a mote's weight good will see it; Whoever does a mote's weight wrong will see it." What do you think is meant by these lines, and what do you think a moat (mote) is used in comparison to?

I do think that one interpretation of "The Quaking" has several similarities with the Christian faith. This section refers to the actions of the world and the consequences, whether good or bad, that will occur during the shaking, or the end, or the world. This section does not really state the person or thing that will give decide the judgment of the world, but in the Christian faith this person is God. With the similarities continuing, ultimately in the end the "good" will prevail. The only thing is that in the Christina faith, it does not matter how many "good" things one person does or how many "bad" things a person does that will decide the their outcome. So when this section refers to "a mote's weight" this does not make a difference in the Christian faith. Good acts are not what get you into Heaven. I think that the way the word mote is used in this section is just trying to put some sort of measurement to the good or the bad that the world does.
