I feel that he had to prove himself and his family that he was his own person and that he could make his own decisions. If he wanted to do that and return i supported it; but i am sad that it turned out him loosing his life because of it. She was not worth what he dealt with but it was his decision. I do feel he went back because guys like him get attached to anyone that pays them attention easily and he felt that he might have a chance of getting her and marrying her. Obviously that didn't happen but i feel that he died a dignant death.
i think that he went back and risked his life because he was stupid! i think that he was realy falling for her ybon. he probably thought that he wouldnt get to be with another woman again so he wanted to at least hold on to the small relationship that he had with Ybon. i think that Oscar was taking things the wrong way. just because ybon was opening up to him, didnt mean that she was falling for him the way he was. Oscar misinterpreted Ybons actions when i think she was just looking for a friend but Oscar didnt understand that. i think that Oscar knew that he could possibly have sex with her because of all the other men she had been with. in the end i dont even know why Oscar went back because it didnt prove anything to his family. i mean he didnt do anything significant, he actually did opposite of what his family wanted him to do. i think that Oscar going back to Ybon and risked his life was stupid.
I believe Oscar was actually in love for once, not just falling for it, because it takes two to be in love. Maybe he had more self confidence since the relationship with Ybon was actually mutual this time, whereas the other girls he “loved” did not love him back. He probably went back for her knowing she was the one, since he was having as bad as luck as his ancestors (like getting beaten) were because of the curse. Oscar knew that the fuku was in effect and something bad was going to happen, even possible death, hence the packages he sent. So he wanted to end his life happily instead of continuing to live a miserable one. It’s better to have loved than to never loved at all, right?

After being almost beaten to death and "falling in love" several other times, why do you think Oscar risked his life to see Ybon again?
